when i first got the card it was sittin pretty @ ~ 8k ppd, but i haven't seen it that high in a while

and yes i haven't updated HFM yet on my current clock speed for my GTX

Hmm, what rig is it in? Is it in there with the i7 running A3's? If so, do you have any priority or affinity changes in place?

And FWIW, nice OC, and to nit pick, the Mhz that matters for folding is the Shader clock

Hopefully we'll get you going soon

NINJA EDIT
Those drivers, are those the ones Nv recalled for errors? Whats your temps? (under the sensor tab)

ummm. i dunno if they're the drives that nv recalled  edit: it looks like these are the recalled drivers, but i've been running them since i installed the card last week or so, and i haven't had any problems

and the card is in my opty 165 rig, i've given the fah11.exe "normal" priority and it doesn't use much (if any) CPU power at all. and i've ran just the GPU client (no SMP) to see if the TPF improves and it stays the same

There it is, you are stuck in a down clock, I think GPUz pulls the info on the front page from the profile while the sensors page is realtime

How often do you reboot?

not often at all. the PC sits in my basement crunching away (hence the cool temps) I just monitor it with ultravnc

i'll reboot it now :)

There ya go! What happened is you crashed the drivers and windows rebooted the vid controller, but Nv locks the card in 2d mode until you do a reboot.

If this happens again, go back to the 195 drivers and bump all your clocks down one notch, my 295s ran at almost 1400 for a few months but these new units made me drop the speed to 1318 or something

Also, if its a dedicated folder, you don't have to worry about the speeds on core and memory, they have no impact on folding yet and are the largest culprits of heat issues

Glad your up again!

good to know :) and heat really isn't an issue since the ambient temp in my basement is like 55°F ;)

I disagree with you Vaulter98c the core doesnt do a lot but it does do a little.

what memory size should i be using for the cfg file? small/normal/big? and what should my flags be for GPU?

big

whatever GPU flag you need (unless its the only GPU in the rig then you are fine)

-verbosity 9 (this allows us to look more closely at your log file if something goes wrong in the client itself)

lehmann, ya, but it's so negligible that I don't bother with it, I'd rather drop the temps 3-5* than worry about less than 100ppd, but thats also because I'm on dual 295's. If I had only one card that would be another story

use evga precision or rivatuner to find if the cards stuck in 2D mode.. gpu-z will not tell you if it is since its reading the clocks directly from the drivers and not the card its self.. good example is overclocking the shaders.. since they overclock in 54mhz increments and your card will clock down or up to the closest 54mhz increment.. gpu-z will show the exact setting you set it to instead of the actual clocks on the card.. rivatuner and evga precision will show the exact clocks the card is running at..

GPUz will tell you, but you have to use the sensors tab, the main tab is like you said, straight from the profile, but the sensors tab is real time, that's how we seen it, look in the above pictures

what benefit does running big WU's give on the GPU client?
(and yes it's my only GPU in this system)

just leave it at big, most of the new units coming out are for that, and it's not like your card cant handle it

once this WU is done, i'll change my config :) I just didn't know if there was an actual benefit... Are the "big" wu's worth more points?

you will get WU's that are worth more, so I guess you can say that, youll still get all the sizes if large runs out, youve just got more options that ways, and PPD is really starting to vary now on GPU WU's with all these new units getting released

When you hear us talking about -bigadv units they are a breed unto themselves.

You need a fast proc, for the most part a i7 @ 3.2Ghz or above is the min. The faster you finish the WU the more bonus you get. Some of us have rigs that get 30k+ ppd from running these WU. (see nexus in sig)

yea i know about those on CPU. I just didn't know if setting the small/normal/big on GPU's actually mattered
