GTX 980 & GTX 970 Availability Thread

Honestly given how hard the 980 has been to come across, I'm hoping that $15 net difference didn't stop you from pulling the trigger, especially since that was MSRP and not marked up.
Yeah, I just grabbed a 970 when more were in stock. In the end, a $20 discount doesn't amount to much to me. At least not when we're talking about buying $300+ components.

Just snapped up a MSI Gaming 970 on newegg. said out of stock on the list but on the product page itself it was available. looks like they have a couple gigabyte available as well.

Grabbed an evga 970 superclocked off of newegg about an hour ago. Good luck if you are looking!

Just grabbed the shorty Zotac off of Newegg. They appear to have forgotten about the $5 gift card, so managed to get $20 off with Visa Checkout + 2 Day shoprunner. Woot!!

Most of the cards are back in stock and staying that way for a while before getting OOS.

welp got mine, works fine flimsy as hell but works.

other note.. doesn't look like they're including mouse pads any longer :-(

Yeah, both of mine didn't have mouse pads, and after installing I was wishing they had used backplates as I feel they are a little flimsy as well. They are quiet and run excellently, so I am planning on keeping them, though! :)

What the hell. It's been a month since launch, and retailers are still out of everything.

Just saw that EVGA raised their MSRP on the reference 980 and 980SC by $50

EVGA are probably the biggest thieves when it comes to selling GPU's, which is mostly the main part of what they do....

^^

You have two MSI Gaming 970s available from a seller right here!

Experience from ordering on amazon when OOS....

I placed my order for a EVGA 980 GTX SC ACX for $569.99 on 10/20 and it will be here 11/3. When I ordered, amazon gave a delivery estimate of 2-5 weeks.

If you get something from Amazon earlier than expected, well then consider yourself lucky.

I remember pre-ordering a G3258 from them and they kept moving it up to a date where even a months prior to the release date and of ordering at that time, they said that it would take another 3 months for it to be back in stock.

And I also remember guys that had ordered from newegg and them having it right after it got released and it was in stock with them, and nothing from amazon. There goes the two day prime.

Judging from previous cycles does anyone know whether I should be worried about US availability of ASUS STRIX 970 version mid January?

Or is it relatively safe to say that ASUS will have had enough time to replenish the retailers after the holidays? I am aware that it is quite difficult to predict the future, but maybe there is a relative common release, production and distribution mechanic around these releases?

IMHO, you should be fine by mid January.

If you're only looking at one retailer, such as Tiger...it might be an issue if you need it at an exact date. I know Tiger usually stocks most GPUs, but theres a chance a certain GPU (in your case Asus) can be out of stock for a few weeks to a month. If you're shopping newegg/amazon, then stock shouldn't be an issue. At least that's what I'm predicting from what I see.
