GTX 970 on 4K

A while ago I started using a 4k tv and I'm getting random artifacting. It can happen during gaming or while browsing the web. The issue is a horizontal bar in the upper part of the screen that blinks on for a second and then goes away. It happens a few times a day and is accompanied by a buzzing like sound from the speakers. I'm using onboard analog audio outputs instead of hdmi outputs. I've tried various combinations of drivers. If I switch to only hdmi, I haven't observed the behavior; but this isn't compatible with my sound system. I've tried to setup with the motherboard drivers and directly with the chipset drivers, both have the same issue. If I go with a 1440p monitor, I also don't seem to have the issue.

Has anyone run across this issue?

Maybe some sort of interference.

I know I was getting buzzing sounds due to the analog audio on my motherboard, and I had to get a USB audio adapter to fix it.

There are more expensive ones if you need 5.1/7.1 audio. Probably worth trying.

GTX 970 can do 4K60 via HDMI 2.0.

I mean, it supports it. Not that new games would get that performance, but for older games yeah.

I had issues with my 970 SLi pair at 4K and it was a combination of needing a firmware update on my cards (to support hdmi 2.0 properly) and a bettter 18gbps hdmi cable.
