GTX 780 / CPU

I am currently running a GTX 780 with an i5 2500 but think I am experiencing a bottleneck in some games, and especially if I use 3D vision (am aware barely anyone uses this lol). I was wondering if an upgrade to an i7 3770 would show much of a performance improvement in this situation?

I know the i5 is a decent chip and is but I am not sure it is getting the best performance from the 780, what current chip would fully utilise the 780?

are you still running at stock clocks?
that CPU has a lot of head room to over clock with an AIO water cooler like the ones from Corsair
a lot cheaper then a new CPU and mobo
 
apologies, I thought I might get a different slant on it from the GPU point of view. will not go for the CPU upgrade for now.
