Hi guy's I am pondering getting a GTX 690 as an upgrade from my old GTX 580 but I have a question about how to position the fans on my case to help cool the card efficiently.
My case is an Corsair 600t with the mesh side panel which mean I can place fans on here but do I have them blowing air on to the card or pulling air away from card as I understand that the reference GTX 690 blows air in to the case rather than out the back?
 
For that case, and most cases in general, a side panel like that should be intake. Exhaust should be top and back. Intake should be front, side, (and in some cases) bottom.

There are some exceptions but Corsair's really keep to that standard pattern.

The 690 coolers partially vent out the back, and partially forward. Using the side as intake will make sure the card gets good cool air besides what comes in through the front.
 
In addition, make sure all cables are tied back in order to avoid restricted air flow. A tidy internal wiring system will help insure that a sufficient amount of cool air will keep your GTX 690 happy.
