I want try to OC my baby gtx 580, I was wondering what are normal safe temps for 100% load the card can handle for long period of time (gaming session of many hours let's say)

What software I should Use for OCing, I use MSI afterburner atm but I don't understand voltage option... it keep putting em at default of 1088 (1.088v is that it?) and what Kind of voltage ppl usually push this card?

For GPU's i'd say as long as you stay below 80c it'll be fine. Obviously, the lower you can get it the better.

Don't touch the voltage until you find the max clocks you can get at stock voltages.

Also, remember - Raping the card with furmark, and actual real world game usage are two different things. A game will never stress your card like furmark. If the card gets above 80c under furmark, but stays in the 70c range during real world usage - Don't worry about it.

Your card will get hot especially if its reference. With the Fermi, you want to keep it under 90C, and you may have to use manual fan to achieve that.

I'd suggest MSI afterburner for overclocking, its an all in 1 stop to change voltages / clocks / etc. You have to go in settings and enable it, click settings > "enable voltage control" > close and restart. The default load voltage depends on your card BIOS, I wouldn't go past 1.15 with a reference...thats me though

I have a good air flow In my case and My card run about 65-68 when OC, ruccenrly at 850/1700

Nice, keep pushing it and stay under 90C. Furmark is useless now and actually DOESN'T stress your card as much as games because both AMD and NVIDIA include defenses against "power virus" programs like Furmark. Just keep upping the clocks and playing a stressful game to test for stability. When you get an error, increase the voltage or back down your clock depending on your temps. I like using old Source games (L4D) as the high framerates really push the cards. I also use Crysis 2 as it pushes the card in DX11. Good luck!
