Is enough a single GTX 580 for games with High settings and Physx, playing at full hd?

Depends upon the game and how much FPS you're expting from it. For most, it should be enough, however, for others, you may run out of video memory even at Full HD.
 
get a 460 1g for like $60. Even a 580 by itself isnt enough for games that make full use of physx

Agreed, I was able to run most games with 2 GTX 480s, still could not run batman AC on max. I can run it at max now with PhysX at medium on my cpu and still hit a avg of 48 fps with a min of 19 on the benchmark.
