GTX 480 Owners Thread

Just got my first 480 in, stock speeds, stock cooler. Ordering a second in a few days. Under FurMark it stabilizes around 92c @ 70% fan speed. Is that a reasonable result? (Using an RV02 case)

Hmmm. Mine runs about 96C with 80% fan using the MSI Afterburner version of Furmark. Wonder if that version is harder, or if I need better cooling.

of heat since I tried using 2 480's with gtx 280 and get insane temps on first card in 108 celcius in MSI Kompter. Too hot for my liking so I will stick to 2 cards only unless I update to EVGA 4 way sli.

MSi Afterburner doesn't really stress much..

Try the original furmark... it burns..

But Afterburner gives a temperature that most likely the GPU will run during normal gaming.

I don't know, during gaming (JC2 and Mafia 2) the most I ever see is about 80C with 80% fan, so the Afterburner is working it harder than games for sure. I've got Furmark around here somewhere, I'll give it a try to compare.

Yup thats what i get on my one too. love my card.

Tell me about it!:D I know that the 480 does draw too much power and gets hot but I think the noise issue was over blown, I've never had quiet performance cards.

If not for the noise and thermals this card would have been MUCH better received but that said 3D Surround really has made up for the other issues to me, I'm LOVING 3D gaming in the 3D Vision titles, the biggest issue is that it's such a huge drain on performance ESPECIALLY in Surround.

I love this setup overall, just a lot of fun with impressive visuals.
