gtx 470

Which brand? I believe its normal; Gen 1 Fermi ran HOT...the stock 470's/480's hit over 90C under load.
 
I had 3x470s and mine never breached 70C. Is your cooling set up effectively in your case?

They're rated to go up to 109C, so 85C is pretty much par for the course.
 
Yes that's fine. However i suggest you get Afterburner on your PC and set a custom fan profile, will help temperatures.

Must have been one of custom cooler variants because it's impossible to reach this kind of temprature on stock gtx 470.

Even in Raven 2 mine goes at 85-87 and you you can't find any more effective air cooling cases than this..
 
Yeah, those temps are very common (nvidia built them to run around 90deg C).

With the MSI Afterburner software (which can be used for any brand 470) you will keep the temps down, but be prepared for those fans to be blowing at 100% during heavy gaming sessions.
 
Water cooling these cards allows for some nice stable over clocks.
