GTX 465

yep waste of money.. way over priced for its performance.. better off with the 470.. it will have way more resale value then the 465 as well.. but if the 470's to expensive wait a month or so you will most likely see the 465 drop to around 220ish because it cant compete at all with the 5850/5830..
 
It really depends on ppd. The GTX 470 does well compared to the GTX 480 so maybe having even less shaders wont hurt it that much as long as the clocks are the same. 12k-13kppd from a highly overlclocked GTX 465 wouldn't be bad.

the numbers are very inconsistant across the board as far as overclocking goes with the card.. some hit 1700+mhz on the shaders some couldnt even break 1500mhz.. with the amount of power the 465 uses you might as well buy a gtx 470.. its only got 352 SP's while supposedly only using 15w less then a GTX 470.. which it doesnt.. so expect the price to take a dump on these cards after the free game offer is over..

basic specs: 352 processors, 44 texture units, 607 MHz core clock, 1,215 MHz shader clock and 802 MHz (2,206 MHz QDR) memory clock. The card will have 1 GB GDDR5 memory with a 256-bit interface.

gtx 470
utilizes 448 CUDA Cores, 56 Texture Units and 40 ROPs. The Graphics Clock operates at 607MHz, while the CUDA Cores operate at 1215MHz. You will find 1.215GB of GDDR5 memory on board, running on a 320-bit memory bus at 3.348GHz.

do the math with power usage and even with the gtx 465 overclocking better then the 470 in a couple reviews.. the 470's still the better deal until the price drops on the 465..

What's the heat like on these cards? About the same as the 470?

I don't want to start the 'ol Red vs. Green flame war, but these cards so horribly priced in comparison to the 5850. They should at least be $50-75 cheaper if they want to be competitive, not $20-25. :( Just seems like such poor marketing to me.

Anand has their Zotac 465 review up and heat is just about dead similar to the 470. Power draw is also the same, and even slightly higher under Furmark.

Strange that it draws more power, considering the 470 has more CUDA cores, vram, etc. :confused:
