Box says 500W PSU with 2x6 pin power adapter.

CoolerMaster 600 Watts PSU

Q9550/Asus P5Q-EM 8GB

Should work fine right? It games well, running TV on the net crashes the video card. I put in the GTX465 in a bigger PSU 900 Watts. It runs fine with no issues. Basically I need a bigger PSU or the CoolerMaster 600w has degraded?

25A/ 30A/ 18A/ 18A/ 0.8A/ 0.8A/ 2.0A PSU 600W

memory tests come back good..

The question is, I found the problem right? Degraded 600 W PSU? I don't have any tools to run AMP loads.

I would think that Gaming would have more amp draw demands from PSU than a flash application running CNNgo?

try running prime95 and furmark simultaneity. (Something that maxes both cpu and gpu) and see what happens. If you get same exact results then its the power supply...if not then it might not be
 
Ahh... the good old Q9550. One of the best CPUs I have ever had next to the i5 3570 and i7 2600 I now have.

Cooler Master power supplies had a notorious rep from seriously overspeccing their products a while back. Over-spec + cap degradation is probably the culprit. Nothing that can't be fixed with a good 40w soldering iron and some Panasonic or Nippon Chemicon caps, though if you're looking for a cheap, short term fix

First generation Fermi cards are power hogs, though. Your best bet would be to buy a solid 500w or more Corsair or Silverstone unit.
