Title pretty much says it. I am using the gpu3 client with my brand new GTX 460, and only getting 5k ppd according to HFM. EVGA precision does not accurately report anything for the card, so I cant do much, except know that it is cranking at 100%. I am running a SMP client on my x6, would this kill that many ppd on the gtx 4xx card? My 9800GTX's got around 6500 ppd. Thanks!

no.. sounds like theres something wrong.. is the card running at in 3D clock mode? or is it stuck in 2D clock mode?

Well, I don't have anything more recent in my farm than G92 cards but that is definitely not good PPD. You should easily be getting double that figure. Check GPU priority and make certain it is higher than the SMP client and not the same or less. Otherwise, you'll have the SMP client vying for core access.

Try MSI Afterburner for it. I love this utility for overclocking and montoring. You should be able to clear 10K ppd without adjusting voltage. I am running 0.1V over and 1780 shader, and am getting 11K ppd out of mine. Which drivers are you using?

Yer card for some reason is stuck in 2d mode
Evga Precision just use the standard skin and not the 460 skin.

I'd expect around 9000PPD..

I pull about 11,500 on my 470.. For comparison my 260 core 216 pulls about 6500

see if you can force it into 3D mode otherwise you need to restart your computer because the drivers crashed at some point and locked the card in 2D mode(easy way to do this is load a game and see if the clocks change)

restarted computer....much better now. thanks!

one of the annoying pos things about nvidia drivers.. also another fix if your computer takes a while to restart or you just dont feel like restarting is reinstalling the nvidia drivers and it will fix the 2D mode lock..

A 470 could easily get 14k+ bro, mine gets almost 15 OC'd

Yeah the card went back to 2d mode overnight, so should I reinstall drivers?

Do you have the PPD report to show last 3 frames as PPD or effective PPD or otherwise? Effective rate would show low PPD.

Its set to last three frames...geez my 9800GTX+'s are smoking this thing...you guys might see it on the fst forum soon....
Kind of a disappointment. Even at 3d speeds for the short time it was working, it was only getting 8500ppd

depends on the WU's most likely.. overclock the shit out of it.. the points on the gpu3 client are not as good as the gpu2 client.. but the WU's on the gpu3 client seem to be very shader clock dependent..

Im on P10632, 890/1780/1800 clocks, getting 5226ppd via the 3frame reporting. Any ideas?

looks like the drivers crashed again.. probably have the gpu overclocked to high.. id run it 800/1780/1800.. gpu and ram clocks are not that important.. shader clocks give you the best PPD increase.. but what id really do is start off with the gpu at 800.. with the shaders id lower it to 1600.. then let the WU run 3-4% increase it.. keep doing this til you either notice the PPD dropping or not longer increasing.. which should be about your limit.. once it starts dropping or stops increasing then your probably getting errors..

well I was getting similar ppd on stock clocks. MSI afterburner also wont let me unsync the core from the shader for somereason

hmm weird.. stock clocks i could understand being in the 8500ish range.. but not with it overclocked.. seems like there is something odd going on.. especially if you cant get it to unsync the shaders and gpu..

I don't think they unlink on these cards. Mine don't, and I think I read somewhere that they aren't supposed to.

I also didn't think fermi could unlink the shader and core. I think shader was always 2x the core on the original fermi but they could have changed this for the gtx 460 version.

huh.. interesting.. lame but interesting..

I've also read that the GPU and shaders are linked on Fermi GPU's. I was a bit disappointed by that bit of news...
