gtx 295 noise level

is it suppose to be loud like it is makes gaming alot harder when you can hear your video card along with the game now maybe someone with a 295 might have a tip or something im missing.by the way i have a asus model also does two lights suppose to be on the video card i only have a green light

What exactly is getting loud? If it's the fan, I wouldn't want to mess with that as it's doing its job to keep the card cool. If it's a high pitched whining sound, that's coil whine and is pretty typical with most of todays high end cards. You could try RMAing the card and hope to get lucky with one that doesn't suffer from this, but I wouldn't count on different results from a replacement.

I can pretty much confirm it is coil whine. I spoke with XFX Tech support as I have the same card and the same problem. It pierces right through the casing and is really annoying. But it is a normal part of the card operation so either get some good noise canceling ear phones or buy a good sound proof casing (with a lot of air flow lol)
