GTX 275 Underperforming?

For some reason, I believe my EVGA GTX 275 is not performing up-to-par from what I've seen on reviews. I'm averaging 35-40 FPS in games like Batman Arkham Asylum, Need For Speed Shift, and Left 4 Dead with settings set at 1680x1050, 4X AA, and every thing else on high. Batman has the Physx disabled so I can improve my FPS, and I'm also using the 190.62 nVIDIA drivers

I have a Core i7 920 so that can't be the bottleneck, but I'm just not sure what could be going on?? Also, I have the GTX 275 overclocked to the EVGA FTW specs (713 Core Clock, 1620 Shader Clock, and 1260 Memory Clock) which is all set in EVGA's Precision application. Not sure what to do to improve my gaming performance right now until I can get a second card.
 
Tried returning the card to stock speeds? Sometimes higher numbers does not equate to higher performance. You might be beyond the point of diminishing returns.

I'll give that a try since things aren't looking too good so far.
 
We have the same card, and mine is putting out better numbers at stock. So, hopefully, that's the problem.
 
clean drivers and use 186.18
at least that is what i told my friend to do with his gtx275, and it works for him
 
After setting the GTX 275 to stock speeds, I ran Batman once again and still the same result occurred. I then uninstalled the driver through Device Manager and used a driver cleaning program as well (from guru3D). I'm not trying the latest NVIDIA driver to see how that works and will report on my findings.

Update: Running Batman Benchmark, I get pretty much a constant 60 FPS (never goes over) with the same settings as original post: Minimum = 54 / Average = 59. Anyway to get over 60 FPS or do I need to adjust a setting; such as v-sync? Need for Speed Shift is avg. between 50-65 FPS... I guess my Monitor Hz in settings must be 60?

I believe the game is capped at 60. I could be wrong about that, though. You could try with v-sync off.

This was on a GTX 275. True story.

I thought the GTX cards were supposed to decimate Batman: AA. Isn't that why it is bundled with them? I thought I remembered seeing fps through the roof in GTX 275 reviews. Have you tried running 3DMark?

Edit: Should be getting at least 11000.

Comparing the settings shown in the YouTube video (everything the same), I got...

MIN: 89
MAX: 224
AVG: 158

With 1920x1080, 16XQ, and very high settings, I got... (with Physx On)

MIN: 43 / (24)
MAX: 103 / (58)
AVG: 72 / (43)

So it looks like my problems have been fixed :D

On the other hand, I tried to run the 3DMark Vantage benchmark, and each time it crashes. So, I'll have to run that later.
