is used gtx 260 192 a good deal for $120? curious.

would it be a good combo with 8800gts 320 for physix??
 
not a bad price considering that a 216 goes for closer to 200. that being said a used 4870 can be had for 100, and it will best the core 192 in FPS.

8800gts is fine for phyX, what game do you need that requires another 60$ card?
 
well i already have the 8800gts. but batman and a few other games can use physx and i was wanting try to try it if the card was viable for it.

think a single 4870 would be be better than the combo of 260 and 8800gts for physx?

most games would not take advantage of physX and the 8800gts would just sit there and suck power, and its not really known for effiency.

if it was me, I would try and sell the 8800gts on craigslist for 50-60 bucks. maybe someone wants it, or give it to a family member that doesnt have a good GFX card.

I use a 4870 and have for a year. and this card does extremely well, even in new games like BC2. I also have a friend with a core 192 and a q9550. he does just fine in games too.

either choice is fine, but imo a 4870 would be a better value if you want to keep costs down.
 
120$ is a good price, I just sole my core 192 for 150$ on craigslist a few months ago, had a ton of interest and sold in about a hour.
 
you guys need to be more specific with the 4870.

The 4870 512mb version is NOT faster than the 192 260, they are about equal so dont pay more for that one.

The 4870 1gb version is faster than the 192 260 and about equal with the 216 version.


$120 is a good price, but im always a little leary on used equipment. If it craps out you're screwed.
