I have a sli mobo.

So for now which 1 card should I get and will be better for the future.

gtx 260 xfx core 216
or

gtx 285 Evga?

I will use a corsair 750 watt psu if i choose sli in the future. would it be enough?

Get this one

XFX GTX 260 c216 55nm. 55nm, XFX double lifetime warranty and its really cheap. Nvidia will be making 260 c216s for a while so you can always get one in the future (for a lower price) for SLI goodness.

GTX 285 right now is still not worth it at all imo. Barely 10% performance difference inbetween it and GTX 275 or GTX 216 does not justify an additional $100 in my book. I really like to know what Nvidia is thinking by pricing 285s so high now that 275 and HD 4890 are out. GTX 285 vanilla should be down to $300 (at least) for it to make sense price wise.

for sli lets say i have this gtx 260 core 216

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150329

and then decide to get the XFX GX260NADBF GeForce GTX 260 Black Edition that is clocked higher

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150330

would I have any problems since one is black editon OC higher and the other one is not, regular core 216 when Sli'd?

As long as they both have the same core CPU chip. (Ie they are both gtx 260 core 216 at the same NM), then they will SLi. The drivers will automatically clock both cards at the speed of the slowest one.

so yes I plan to game on 1920 x 1080 with a 24" so getting the 1x 260 for now would be the best bet?

I bought a GTS 250 but I think I may send it back to Newegg and get a GTX 260. I am not sure if I should get the evga one and maybe step up to another card later. It also comes with COD5. However, the MSI 260 has a pretty cool cooler and is quiet but it doesn't come with a game.

If you have the sli mobo(which you do), I would go with the 260s because you can get two 260s for the same price as one 285, and two 260s is a lot better than a single 285, and is on par with the 295. You do have to take into consideration case size and the extra heat with the two 260s though.

also im guessing a 750watt corsair sli ready psu would be enough to run 2 260 gtx's.

I just got my eVGA GTX 285 SC for 288 at Amazon after the MIR (313)

I would have posted the deal here but apparently I don't have the post count to do that yet. :(

The 260 is a lot of card for not a lot of money. . .and two of them in SLI is undeniably fast for 300 bucks.
