gtx 260 Heat issue?

Hey fellas, I just picked up a BFG 260GTX OC edition(192 core) and I've been noticing it hits almost 80C at load, seems to be right around 50C at desktop. Is there a reg hack for ntune so you can manually manage fan control? I've had ZERO luck with ATItool in the past but would be willing to try again. So all you 260 owners, what are your temps?

Those are very acceptable temps. my card sits around 43-47C, and also hits the mid 70's and low 80's when I game. So there's no need to worry.

bah, seems high. I also just found out mine is the 216 core. Has anyone used Ntune for manual fan control?

Its completely within acceptable temperatures. Nothing to worry about!

Maximum temp is 105C, so you are way below under load:

Rivatuner can be used to alter fan if you had bad luck with ATT:

yeah...i know the card isnt in any immediate danger, however my overall system temp has gone up 15C, thanks for the help.

well I have the regular 192SP GTX260 and I idle at 39-40 C because it downclocks and usually get in the upper 50s during gaming. surprisingly its Lost Planet that seems to push my card the most and is the only game or benchmark that has taken my card to 70.
