GTX 260, BSOD

The other night, my display began flashing off and on before giving me the infamous blue screen with an error code that , from what I read, pointed toward the video card. The card works fine when I boot in safe mode and I can even reach the Windows 7 login screen when I boot up normally. But once I type in my password to get to my desktop, I get the flashing screen followed by the blue screen. I'd like to think that there's an underlying issue because my GTX 260 has worked flawlessly ever since I got it. Here's the code:

Today I was told that I need to run Windows 7 update then reinstall the drivers for a fix. I'm at work so I haven't tried this yet, but I'm skeptical. I am using the latest drivers, so no issue there hopefully. Can anyone provide me with some assistance? Is my card dead?

Uhm, maybe try an older driver version.
After that, check temperatures, and also see if the fan is working properly.

if the screens flashing its usually drivers.. but the other problem is that the drivers should of loaded the second the windows logo popped up during booting so it seems like the drivers are having an issue with Aero.. i would try uninstalling the drivers in safe mode then boot into windows normally and see what happens.. it will look like absolute shit but at least you will know if its the drivers or the card..
