Asus teases new Nvidia mystery mobile GPU

The fun thing is that if this is designed to go in a laptop, it will have a low TDP. Perhaps low enough to passively cool if put on a normal GPU card?
 
Nah, it's probably a slightly cut down or underclocked 1070 (most likely soldered on the mainboard since Asus doesn't do MXM) and that asus laptop is most likely the one they sell with an AIO dock to keep the gpu cool. No real miracles here.

How is it misleading? They claim it's a mobile GPU and clearly it is faster than what it's compared to. Misleading would mean that they are not being honest....
 
Most likely the successor to the mobile 980 (not the 980M); a full 1080 binned to run at lower power targeting mobile.
 
anyone else catch this "24" laptop" in the tags? that thing will be HUGE!
and I agree about the chart, scaling is off and it starts at an odd number, makes the difference look exaggerated. there's only ~650 point difference between the 980ti and the unknown but the graph makes it look bigger.

Seems to be all the rage...DT GPU's in notebooks. I wanna see the GTX 1070M and 1080M.

yeah, it shows like the 980ti is 40% of a titan x, when we know thats not true.

maybe they should've started the mystery gpu at 20,800 and put everyone else with a 0 length bar?

I don't think you know how graphs work. The red bar is clearly higher than the blue bars. So.....I don't see exactly what is MISLEADING about it. Can you please explain WHY it's misleading?

Look at it with the numbers covered. It looks like the 980ti is less than half the performance of the unknown gpu. There is really only ~650 point difference. If the graph started at zero then the bars would only be missing a little piece at each end.
