i just baught a x800gto2 and have unlocked the 4 other pipes but i am haveing trubble over clocking it i can only get it up to around 450 before it crashes and i have seen other get it up to 600 or more anyone have any ideas?

from what I've heard, the heatsink on the GTO2 isn't that great and if you want to reach X850XT PE speeds, you need a different cooler.

na i have red people getting like 550 at least on stock cooler and the temps arent getting high at all at 450 on mine

Many GTO's are on R430 core, which sucks for overclocking. Unlocking the pipes on your card can also hinder overclocking(many have reported).

You need to decide which gives you better performance....unlocked, or locked/overclocked.

my GTO 2 did 595/610 STOCK cooler an unlocked all pipes , had R480 core tho ... make sure yours does

I thought all sapphire gto2's had the 480 cores. The powercolor gtos were the ones with the 430 cores. Mine does 520/570 no sweat on the stock cooler. You might try pulling the stock cooler and applying some as5. Other option is the artic cooling cooler, if you don't mind loosing a slot. People are reporting 15-20c temp diffs with that cooler.

its deffently the r480 core hence i have unlocked the pipes and it sez on ati tool
but ther is some diffs on my card like the pcie power plug isent on the card.... but it is the saphire x800gto2

also when im over clocking it it isent getting verry hot so i dought its the cooler

it the blue or red card , cause they came out with a 'limited' gto2 aswell..

yeah its the gto2 limited edition but thats the only one on ther website there isent just a gto2 with no limited edition inder it and the card is blue
