Hey guys,
I have GTA:SA and a PS2 controller with a USB adaptor. I love playing with the gamepad, cuz it just works better.

In any case, does anyone know of a place that might have a list of the controls and their assignments for the PS2, so I can map the controls properly?

Thanks!

Your mouse will be a lot better for aiming

Yea, I can't stand the contollers for aiming.. The firefights in San Andreas on PS2 that seem hard, will seem like you are cheating on PC with the mouse.

That link doesn't work for me.

didn't realize cant link to articles on gamefaqs.

just go there and search

Actually, because of the "lock-on" feature in GTA you should NEVER need to aim unless you're on one of those first person style mounted gun missions. Out of the 200+ missions in this game, there are probably 3-4 of those.
Use a pad, it's 100X better than keyboard and mouse for this game. Keep in mind that this isn't an FPS. The lock-on button eliminates any need to have pinpoint aiming.

Does GTA:SA PC have the lock on button?

It certainly doesn't when you're using keyboard + mouse.

It ABSOLUTELY has lock on for the PC version...and you can use it with the keyboard or a gamepad. I tried both. It's 10X better than anyone's aim...which is why mouse aiming is pointless for this game. It's called "target" or something akin to that. There are actually 2 variations, one for "next target" and one for "previous target."
You can clear a room pretty quickly once you get used to swapping targets fast. The point (and difficulty) of GTA has never really been aiming in firefights anyway.

not trying to thread jack but i see the problem has been solved and thought this would be a good place to ask this ?, I use a usb adapter for a ps 2 controller as well and i cant get free look to work nor can i find an options to turn it on. when i say free look i mean use the analog stick to look around. hate to ask such a dumb ? but im coming up with nothing.thanx in advance.
