Ok i have completed the game and i am finding it really hard lately to turn my xbox 360 back on and play it again. Is it just me or does the replay value in gta iv suck?

Don't get me wrong i love the game and the story was great but i don't feel the pull back to play it again like i did with the other games? The Graphics are great and physics but where are all the features from VC and SA????? I want to mod my car, i want to parachute out of planes and i want to actually BUY something with my money.

I practically purchased my xbox 360 for this game, all i can wait for now is the PC version which i think will be outrageously good, especially with mods and multiplayer.... etc....

Just my thoughts, anyone else agree?

Yeah san andreas had better replay value (rice rocket mods ftw!) but i still have fun running around causing chaos and mayhem.

I wish I could shoot out of the heli's.

I agree 100% The game simply doesn't have the subtle details or the size that make SA so replayable to this day.

I agree completely.

GTA IV has practically no replay value; there's just nothing to do in the game once you complete the storyline.

lacks subtle details?!?!?! Heck no, it lacks the extras that SA had, but if you look at the sheer integrity of the game it has a heck of a lot going on. The game has so many little details, you just won't notice them. Which for the replayer it may seem it's lacking... which it is. But it's not lacking subtle details, in fact it may have more of those subtle details

Gotta agree. Hoping the downloadable content will actually extend the life of the game for me. Can't say I'm disappointed with the game, mind you. The length and complexity of it was certainly excellent for the money spent and the storyline was decently written, voice acting excellent, and so forth. But, like any great thing ... when you're done with it you're always looking for a way to carry on experiencing that same level of gameplay you just finished.

Am I the only one who lost interest in San Andreas? I don't even think I made it half-way through. I feel people were over-estimating what the game would entail. With SA the game had already been established on the platform so they were just throwing in whatever they could to keep people interested. A lot of it was pointless I thought. GTA4 is their first game on the new generation and I think they just wanted a really well polished and finished game. The shrunk the city size a bit (SA had a lot of open space i thought was wasted, for what? nothing.)and up'd the detail greatly... let me say that again... GREATLY.
Everything in this game I've experienced so far is top notch. I expect the next game will keep the same level of quality but start to add in new things and bring back some of the stuff people cried about that was gone.
I don't recall reading anything from Rockstar that claimed that everything from SA would be there, and restaurants would be on every corner just like NYC. People hyped that themselves and for thinking all this would be done was foolish in my mind.

I think one of the issues with this one that SA had is variety. Yes, it's kind of cool that you're playing in a giant city with some depth...but SA really had you playing in 3 large cities with lots of small towns and varied terrain in between them. It just felt epic. When you made a transition from one city to another, it was almost like a sequel of sorts. With GTA4...it's still pretty much the same no matter where you go.
I still hope that they'll take that approach and give us another game with a larger scope. Granted the humor would need to be adjusted a lot, but setting it in Europe with the ability to go between several countries would be nice.

Same here. I put it down and never picked it up, probably 1/3 into the game. (I found SA required too much effort to advance)

So far I'm liking GTA4, I haven't finished it yet, but that's because I'm wasting far too much time on random killing sprees and racing around the city.

That much I enjoy... when I sit down to play the game, I'm not forced to play a mission, or do something to get around. I can just do what I feel like.

Killing is my business, and business is good.

Well, if you can play the game online (there's a lot of different online game modes), and also wait for the episodic content.
