So I was reading one of the GTA forums, and some people were getting better results by turning off the playback feature in the options menu. Now I can play smoothly at 1920x1200, everything maxed out except view distance (keeping it inside 1GB Vram).

Try it!

I dont know whats wrong with me, but I cant find the playback option ingame...

Can you guys point it out, so I can properly navigate to it.

I'm not going to start the game up again tonight. Just search the menus.

Is it the Clip Capture option under the Game menu? :confused:
 
The main draw of the PC version is the major cause of bad performance... ironic.
 
Just tried this out and I didn't notice any significant boost in fps...was still around 35 when outside. Maybe this only improves performance for people with a dual core or lower?

I tried the 180.60 drivers but every time I restarted GTA IV, the graphics options were reset. The problem went away when I reverted back to 180.48.
