Hello all.
I have a NVidai 256mb ddr fx 6800GT card which is very nice. Ive had the card pre-installed in my machine by Mesh since september. Ive had long sessions on Far Cry and rome-total war with no worries. However, I just got half-life 2/CS-S and after playing for around 30-45min i get a warning message saying that its getting too hot (around the 99c mark) and it automatically switches HL2 off. I downloaded coolbits, but I have set it to no overclocking. I hoovered the dust out of the case of my tower, and yes it is in a well ventilated space. It has been getting hotter the last week or two, but still, why is this happening? HL2 is set at max detail graphics, but then i dont want to compromise and tune things down when its supposed to be top of the range gpu. There are other cards in the other pci slots but there is still enough room for the 6800 and there isnt really any way of rearranging them to get better room. Any ideas? Its ambient temp is 41, and its core slowdown threshold is set to default at 120. I dont think mesh would replace it as ive instlalled coolbits, and they are shit at customer service, would take them arounda month to replace it. Can someone with a 6800gt give me some of their temp readings. why am i so high?
