I recenlty purchased a gt5032 system. Here's the basic specs:
Foxconn C51GU01 motherboard--
Four DDR DIMM slots
DDR 333/400 MHz dual channel
Max Memory 4 GB
Nforce 410
It currently has Nanya memory(nt512d64s8hc0g-5t) 2x512meg. pc3200/CL3
I tried to install 2 old sticks of Corsair xms3200(CMX256A-3200LL) with the Nanya, but it lowered the freq to 200 mhz instead of running @ the full 400 mhz. It also changed the CAS Latency to 2.5. When I install the Corsair by itself, they run @ 333....i think. I figured there's just an timing issue here. Unfortunately, I cannot tweak the settings in the BIOS since it's a Gateway and thus locked. I wish to upgrade to at least 2gig, preferably 3gig. So the questions is, am I stuck with memory that's CAS3 running @ 400mhz, and if so, what memory is recommended? I'm looking for decent cheap memory(2 gig kit). Specifically, brand and model or serial #(or at least the specs I should be looking for). I'd hate to purchase the incorrect memory. Any suggestions out there?
also...ddr or ddr2, does it matter?
Thx guys!
