"GT300 is basically Larrabee done wrong..."

Could you please link the text, I don't feel like clicking the link and giving them ad revenue they don't deserve.

That was one of Charlie's best articles. He's getting really good at Nvidia bashing now. I'm surprised he didn't say GT300 was going to be too big. Although he basically said everything else that could go wrong will go wrong. It's like his Christmas list for 2009. GT300 will be late, expensive, slow as balls in DX11, and worse than both Larrabee and RV870.

The bias just oozes through the link
That man hates nvidia with a passion, seriously I've seen cults that made more sense then that man does.

that was an interesting read. Can not wait to see if its true.

The title was just a quote from the article linked, hence the quotation marks.

I own an 8800GT, I like it, great card. I own a HD4870, I like it, also a great card.

I must say that I grow tired of Nvidia's overpriced crap and would enjoy seeing them put a gun in their mouth and pull the trigger.

Would benefit us in the long run when they are humbled, get their shit together and start bringing out some smart cards.

You never know, Charlie just might be right this time.

Heh... not like it matters... most sensible people wait a few weeks after actual release for reviews...

Was hoping this summer for new releases though :(

Seems like a very good analysis of the furture video card tech. I guess we will have to wait and see but it seems like nvidia is going to have some issues catching up. Oh how things have flipped!

Nice find on the article, but I found it hard to read all that. I do not think he even had one good thing to say throughout the whole article. Just have to wait and see what happens.

You know I almost wanna cancel my subscription to NOD 32 (ESET being a sponser to the inq and the one on display when I read that piece).

I mean I donno what to say. Thanks for the speculation? The man somehow got me to read a couple pages of the finest quality FUD. I mean that article was the epitome of unsubstantiated purely speculative FUD.

Well done charlie, you're better then Faud.

I must say that I grow tired of Nvidia's overpriced crap and would enjoy seeing them put a gun in their mouth and pull the trigger.

No this article is pure epic and tragic fail.

well, the article will certainly make you appreciate all the technical hurdles climbed when this card is inevitably a success.

Why does he hate nVidia so much? Am I missing something?

I don't remember why Charlie started bashing nVidia but he has been doing it for a looooong time. It might have been around the time of the rigged drivers thing........then he stopped getting review samples or invites to events............broken NDA's...........refusing to sign NDA's.......

However right he might be, when it comes to this guy and nVidia, you have to consider the motive. He actually would do anything to cause them pain. Including reporting that G300 will be late and weak so that 5890 will sell like hotcakes because people don't think it will be worth waiting for nVidia.

That said, I don't think he is wrong that AMD will be first with DX11 parts and that they will have the upper hand on functionality. Remember also, that he is known as something of an egomaniac so he can't afford to be "too" wrong. Just wrong enough to be plausible and find a way to say I told you so.

This article is an obvious answer to the stuff that Theo Valich has been writing lately.

from the article, he got something right about TSMC, and the problem with nVidia on 40nm, this is actually on the news now...

but the rest, huh..... seem he is quite good on bashing nvidia on this part, almost flawless I should say....

overall, I'll see how GT 300 coming along.... but it wont stop me buying the first card for next generation :)

Why does speculating even matter?

It's not going to change what actually happens... you just have to wait until it actually releases...

I've said it once and I'll say it again, the URL to the inq needs to be added to the text filter on [H]'s vBulletin install. Nothing informative or productive ever comes from the site - with or without Fuad.

Just because they have their point doesn't mean they are wrong, and it doesn't mean they are right also...Its all guess... we will never know until it actually get release, before that the article itself hold its truth.....

We live in USA, we have our freedom to see what we want......

Because it will cause panic in the public which could help or hurt nvidia's revenues.

I used to read the Inq religiously. It was the baseless Vista bashing that finally turned me off. They started putting out Vista articles every day that, as a Vista user, made them sound like 12 year old boys who had never even used Vista. I don't doubt for a second they're one of the main reasons people thought so terribly of Vista amongst the tech community. That just opened my eyes to how retarded a lot of their other articles were as well.

While I'm at it, the same goes for Maximum PC, but to a much lesser extent. It's a magazine for noobs, and back when I didn't know a lot about computers I believed every word I read in them. Now I can skim through a Maximum PC and find multiple mistakes and incorrect facts within minutes.

Why post things written by this idiot ?

The funny thing is he starts by saying everything written about the upcoming chips, is a lie, which is quite funny from a guy that is wrong about 95% of what he "writes".

Even more funny is that he blatantly praises unreleased products from ATI and bashes NVIDIA ones. For a while that I've had little doubts that he was being payed by someone to bash NVIDIA. From the latest news it's quite obvious who it is and that's very, very low game...

Because it will cause panic in the public which could help or hurt nvidia's revenues.

Not talking about the article... just in general anyone on forums...

Why even waste time thinking about it... it's not going to change what happens regardless... :)

Yet another stupid article from Charlie, his NVIDIA bashing sure is getting old with his sources, wherever he got them and his biased opinions.

What's this guy's deal? Does he work for ATI or something? I can understand why there are fanboys of consoles but I've never understood aligning with a GPU company.

LOL

I knew the site and author even before opening the thread. :p Charlie is a mental case.

Catching up to what?

If I remember correctly, one of the reasons why Charles hates NVIDIA so much is because they stopped sending him review samples (among other things) because he wouldn't say what NVIDIA told them about their products (CUDA is great! Physx is going to be huge!).

I know his hate has been going on before that, BUT ever since that incident he's been much stronger in his hate against NVIDIA.

It started when NVIDIA stopped inviting the Inquirer to their press releases or hardware launches, because they rarely (never?) respected NDAs.
It's also very clear why he does what he does. No one can be such a tool for free. He's obviously being payed by a NVIDIA "competitor" and it's not difficult to guess who,it is, given what the idiot writes about unreleased products, from the company paying him.

Before I post, let met state that I am not a fanboy of either Nvidia or AMD, but I do have to state my objections here.

The GT300 isn't even out yet. There are a lot of rumors floating around on the web as to the specs, but I doubt anyone truly knows what the right specs are for this GPU. No one knows how it's going to perform, and no one knows how the R870 is going to perform either.

Secondly, is he really comparing Nvidia to Intel here? Let's be honest with ourselves. I truly don't think Intel, who has a track record of designing shitty GPUs, is going to top Nvidia, a chipmaker with almost two decades of experience. There's a reason why new inventors never break into the chip market so easily, because both AMD(ATI) and Nvidia have been making these chips for longer than some of the younger ones here have even been alive.

Don't get me wrong. It was a fun article to read. But l would have been a bit more cautious writing it.

wow thats nvidia bashing to the extreme lol. to bad people cant write an ubias article regardless with there expereinces with certain companies. lets wait and see maybe nvidia will drop the ball..........and well maybe they wont.

It had nothing to do with him saying this or that. Kyle bashes Nvidia everytime they rename the 8800 GTS 512, err 9800 GTX, err GTS 250 or whatever it is.

He broke his NDA. Break NDA and you stop getting parts. He is either, really smart and realizes that his rants will generate a lot of clicks and doesn't believe anything he writes, OR TheInq is really smart and realizes the lunatic generates a lot of clicks. I'm not sure which one is true.

Its almost comforting in a strange way.

Charlie still grinds his axe and the sun still rises in the east every morning. In a crazy world at least you know some things will never change.

I could care less what the specs are. Show me the money, show me the performance. That is all I care about. Folks can talk about what they think things will turn out to be, but what matters is how it performs when the benchmarks hit the fan, and how much it costs relative to performance. Nothing else.

8800GT ~= 8800GTS 512 ~= 9800GTX, then the core was shrunk to 55nm (and clocks respectively increased) for 9800GTX+ ~= GTS 250... Where the 8800GT and 8800GTS 512 sit in relation to the G80 based 8800s is a much more complicated story. I'll never forgive Nvidia the amount of time its taken me to explain that to people buying stuff from me.

Those two are mutually exclusive? I think everyone out there, including himself, and including Rahul Sood Founder of Voodoo PC think he's an idiot. And, for whatever reason, he was given the uncanny abillity to have people read a few thousand words of sludge... and people do it! willingly!

The problem is that people give "him" attention and thus "he" will continue. Obviously the red fans will make sure to spread the links all over the place and some green fans will post them to laugh at them. Either way, it's generating traffic to that tabloid.

People have to learn something very important in regards to other people. If you give them attention, they will continue to bother you. If you ignore them for long enough, they will not try again.

It's a clusterfuck that's for sure.

No, they aren't mutually exclusive. Sadly I think he actually believes that stuff.
