Just got my GT, overclocked to 400/1100 and then 420/1120...both worked fine...till I tried to run the Nvidia demos for the 6800...then everything went to shit in a hurry...I installed the 62.xx drivers so that might be an issue...but when I downclock to stock speeds 2 of the 3 demos run ok...

Anyone see anything like this?

Could just be the drivers you are using.. they are beta aren't they? Did you try the 61.** drivers and test it?

I have some errands to run so I haven't reverted yet...plus the 62.02s fixed a problem I was having so I hope that isn't the case...was just wondering if anyone else had seen this before...

Might have something to do with what John Carmack was talking about....you know the "overclocking may not have the results you expect running Doom 3"? The newer games may depend more on precision with a gpu rather than raw clock speed.

edit- those newer Nvidia demos run like shit for everyone...even the guys with ultras. Kind of like when 3Dmark03 came out nobody had hardware to get a decent score at the time. make sure you have AA and AF turned off before you run those or you will get a slooooow slide show.

yeah, Nalu at 1280x1024 runs at about 20 fps on my ultra oc, 61.76 WHQL drivers, it is soo beautiful that I don't really care, plus she isn't moving much, so the FPS doesn't matter as much.

Have you actually tried it at stock speeds to be certain?

I went down to stock and 2 of the 3 started working ok...but still jerky..the other still went crazy...so it could be the drivers or it could easily be the overclock as well...

Ah yes, I'm an idiot, somehow I didn't see that in your first post even though I quoted it, sorry. Anyway, I've not tried any of the 62.xx series drivers yet, have only used various 61.xx kits and the NV demos have all been fine so maybe downgrading is the solution after all. Strange that it'd break something like that though ...
