I recently orderd my new PC, and I have all the components acceptions from mother board and processor (In my case the Intel Core 2 DUO E6700 and Gigabyte GA_965P_DQ6.)

pre-orderd from overclockers.co.uk and today they announced that the 6700 isn't being released until August! gutted!

Another god damm couple of weeks. Anyone know any information on the releasedate of the new conroe processors? Or any UK sites which are selling them now?

This has seriously just pi**ed my day off!

I know its my bad, but i have 75gb 10,000 rpm raptor drive sitting here, a 1900xtx sitting here, 2gb of crosaire DDR 800 memory sitting here and i swear to god they keep shouting use me!

GRRRRRRRRRRR!

any news would be appricated.
 
Well here in the US

i heard some dates relating to August 4/8th and July 27th.
Something to do with preorders and things.

i also feel sad for you
 
What did you expect? Planning around assumed availability and then getting worked up over your own assumptions doesn't make any sense to me. Assumptions are the mutha of all fuck ups.
 
I have all my parts sitting here too...if I can't get one by the 11th of August I'm going to have to order a Pentium D 805 and OC that to hold me over until maybe Kentsfield.
 
Its not the e-tailers fault, the final official release date they can ship is not up to them, but higher ups.

and yes i was mad assuming that the processors would come out as exoected and i knew there was goiing to be limited stock of them, hence the fact i pre-orderd well in advanced.
 
The official launch data has been July 27th for a few months now, so saying that hte processors aren't coming out as expected is a little silly to say. The question that comes up is where in the shipping flow are the chips on release day. Are they all still at Intel? Are they at distributors? Are they at retailers/etailers just waiting ot be sold? If anything other than the latter, the etailers won't be able to ship them until next week.
 
shoulda waited till conroe was released, because by the looks of things you wanted a top end rig, and by the time conroe will be out for you, the X1950XTX will be too :D

Who could be so stupid to expect an Intel chip to be available on launch!! :/sarcasm:

The Conroe release date is July 27th. However, OEMs aren't allowed to start shipping Conroe-equipped systems until August 4th (one week after the official launch date), so this might have something to do with your delays.

I assume it depends on the vendor. Microcenter might be trying to maximize sales of the EE, or they might be trying to get enough of the processors to satisfy demand (which is probably very high right now).
 
August 7 technically isn't too bad...it's only 1.5 weeks after the "launch" date. If you got one that soon, I'd actually be impressed. Normally, I'd be surprised if you got it before the end of August actually.

Tankguys sent me an e-mail saying that they "might" have stock pretty close to launch day. Would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath.
 
I went to scan today for my conroe and they said even if you preorder them the situation is lookiing as if it will be late august , i have got use to the idea now and not really bothered.

I even paid up front and then they checked , i took my money back after that.

Man the way i was told about how its going to be is that even late august you might not see it, shiiiiit
 
hmmm....Conroe ship date 8/7, Apple WWDC 8/7, new Mac Pro annoucement using Conroes available for shipment at the Apple Store 8/7 (?)

It was the same deal when Presler and Cedar Mill were announced in December. Took a month or so for general availability - it's no big deal, C2D will show up sooner or later.
 
No big deal for a company to keep their word? Ya, it is to me. I sold my current rig expecting it to be on time. It better be...
 
Intel made a huge stink about ramping up production and being prepared for this launch. I can't imagine it would take 1+ month for availability.

Also keep in mind that its a matter of skewed perspective. The vast majority of people don't have pieces lying around and are just waiting on a Conroe CPU to finish their new rig ;) More than likely, the insane cuts on AMD's lineup will raise interest in those processors, as well as the now dirt-cheap P4's.
