Group policies randomly apply at my Active Directory domain.

Good morning.

We've established a number of group policies in our AD domain.

The problem we are having is that a number of them apply in some computers and in some not, in a seemingly random fashion.

This happens with all types of group policies, either startup scripts or all sorts of configurations via templates.

Any ideas on where to look into to solve this problem?

Event logs are your first line of diagnostics. Local workstation event logs first, then move on to the domain controllers. I'd check to make sure file replication is occurring correctly.

Next I'd check to make sure the FSMO and GC are set correctly. Then, I'd verify that the local workstations haven't managed to block a necessary port via their firewall.

Are your trouble workstations consistent? Always the same ones?
