Green Pixelation problem!!! Please Help!!!

Hey all, :mad:
I've got a problem and i can't fix it. Whenever i play games or even surf like TVGuide.com my screen starts switching from black to normal then it will go into green pixels all over the screen.. bright green pixels that ruin games and everything else and i have to restart to correct it. I only get like 10 minutes while playing a game before it does this.
My Specs as follow:
P.4 2.8E
1 Gig of Ram
80 Gig HD
MSI 865PE Neo2-V
Radeon 9000 Atlantis Pro.
SB Audigy 2 ZS

I was trying to find out more about this problem, and some people think it's a heating problem and my system runs under 90 F. Or it's an under powered problem. I have a 430W PSU in there. It's set to 112V, wondering if i swtich to 230V if it will help, but when i did it didn't start up. So i don't know what to do.. Help me please :confused:
 
List your monitor we dont know if its LCD or CRT if the later it might be speakers nearby, but what your describing probably is not caused by speakers.
I'm guessing you have checked the connection to the video card.
 
I have a 19" LCD Monitor from Dell.. I have 2 Altec Lansing sattleite speakers right next to my screen.. I think it's hardware becuase i recently did some updating with a new processor, motherboard and ram. And now that happening. So the heating and underpower theory are the only things i see it could be. I just wanted to get more opinions on what to do then 1 person.
 
Switching to 230v should keep your system from powering up, that's for European outlets only. As far as your problem goes, I would suspect that it's the video card. Try the newest drivers for your card and, if that doesn't work, swap your card out for another if you have spares.
 
Anyone else have any ideas on how to figure this out? Does anyone else know of anyone having this problem?

test your RAM
make sure your thermal solution is adequate

well for starters I personally consider 49C the highest acceptable CPU temp under full load in one of my rigs
(I use software to force shutdown at 50C)

if that is an Idle temp, IMO you need a beter solution
generally even under full load my solutions are sub 40C
but then Im conservative regarding that subject

2nd +12V is rather an important rail
and your CPU and onboard components (including the AGP slot)
and auxillary power to the video card are powered off that rail

Well according to that chart.. i got enough power going to it.. i only need like a 350 and i have a 430 in.. So that brings it down to a heating problem, and if i average 49-50C and you average below 40C.. Im thinking i should probably get a few fans.. or what do you think?? I have all latest drivers that i could find for everything.. I think my graphic card is fine, maybe i can get a better heatsinc for it and get more fans or something.. Anyone have any suggestion on fan types and placement??
 
well first off, what make of PSU is it?,
and watts dont really mean much if they arent on the rails you need

if its a heat issue, that generally pretty easy to determine by finding a cool place to test
(ambient temperature having a huge effect overall in heat transfer)
and opening the side of the case and training a large fan on it, if the problem dissappears ...

as far as the latest drivers go
well, often the problem is little bits of the older drivers left over in the registry
Id recommend

followed by ruling out the RAM as a possible culprit

many things you can directloy rule out (RAM< Heat)
but power really isnt one of them,

did you simply use the calculator and arrive at that conclusion or follow the formual I suggested
how many amps on the +12V rail did you need?
what was the +12V rail rated at on the PSU
and who made the PSU (gives me an idea as to the veracity of the rating and the likely temperature it was rated at)
 
yah dood its ither some sort of voltage problem or it could just be your graphics card dying, is your GFX card OC'd right now? o yah if you switch it to 220v it could fry your system, if your living in the us the standard outlet is a 115line not a 220 line, that is unless you have a seprate 220 industrial line hardlined to your house (very un-likly in the us, unless your in a garage with a custom outlet installed 220 lines are normaily used for welders and such and other industrial appliances :D) anyway good luck
 
voltage report comes out ok.. someone said it could be over heating since i average 50C.. or my grx card is dying.. and it's not over clocked
 
I tried swapping my graphic card.. My moniter says it can't view analog display.. so i can only have it hooked up to the DVI plug, but the one that i currently have is taking a shit.. how do i fix it so i can use my other VGA as a temp. until i get a really good new one?? please help me here..
 
I'd say the vid card is failing.. make sure it's cooled decently, try runnig with the side panel off.. if that won't do anything - try a different vid card..
 
Yea.. i just ordered a new VGA Chipset fan.. really high powered and really moves the shittin air.. the problem is.. i can't swap my graphic card out with anything but a DVI plug.. for some damn reason i can't view analog.. only digital.. really pissing me off.. hopefully the new fan will work.. if it doesn't.. what is a really good graphic card AGP 4x/8x P.4?
 
I really think you need a new heatsink and fan ive got my amd 1800 overclocked and before i got an alpha heatsink ( thats an 80mm Heat sink) my system was always going a bit funky windows blue screening CDRs not burning and even graphics problems.

Before my new heatsink n fan my CPU Temp was over 50 now its around 40
case temp was 30 and now its only 20
 
I still have the stand heatsink on my P.4 2.8E.. I have 3 case fans, 1 VGA Chipset fan and 1 heatsink.. I just ordered that new VGA Chipset fan.. what would be a good heatsinc for my P.4 then.. Id like something from newegg.com cost really no problem.. i've tried looking before.. but so many.. what should i look for? Air flow? or what..

yeah, definately agree. to me it sounds like your ram is shot. my old Ti4400 did the EXACT same crap until one day it wouldn't work at all. just try another vid. card and see what happens.
 
thats what im saying.. i can't try another vid card because i can't view analog.. and the card i have to swap is VGA.. and i can only use DVI.. and i found out that when i lower resolution and try to play games i get like 2 seonds before it just completely messes up.. usually get like 10 seconds.. 7 workable seconds.. lol.. but hopefully this new fan will help things.. when you said my ram was shot.. my vid card ram or system ram?
God damn i just want this fixed so i can play games again.. AHHHH
horrible part is i don't know who to complain too..
 
well, i just formatted my computer. I went to install my ATI drivers.. and i can't install the drivers because i get an error that says. INF Error Drivers not found or something like that.. How do i fix that?
 
After i reformatted.. i redownloaded America's Army.. which is the game i play.. and i started playing and i played for quite awhile.. actually.. compared to normal.. like 15 minutes i think.. then it went back to green pixels everywhere.. im so tired of this bullshit.. god.. think a new graphic card will do the trick.. and if it doesn't?
