The Mustek 5.1 speaker set is very nice. No remote, you have to change the volume by walking up to it; I bought one of the universal remotes, I'll post here if I find a program that works tonight when I have time.

Because they're insulated, they'd be fucking great as PC speakers, too, but you'll have to buy adapters from jacks to RCA. Unless the digital input works, I'll try that tonight, too. I'm debating buying another set, but I guess I still have a couple days to decide.

I mean, for 15 bucks you can buy this or fast food for you and your chick tonight. She, and Taco Bell, will forgive you.

Interesting. I guess your stuff shipped from the TX area. Mine shipped from CA, so it was not impacted by H. Rita.
 
I got my order today. I ordered the 1000ft network kit, supposed to come with:

1. 1000ft cat5
2. crimper
3. line tester
4. bag of caps ( i thought it was 100)

What I received is:

1. 300ft cat5
2. crimper
3. bag of 30 caps

umm, wtf! anyone get this garbage?

yea most of the crap I got from geeks is garbage, except the hardware.

I ordered 300ft cat5e and no line tester, mini-acquarium that runs loud and stinks, and keyboard that some keys don't work.

That sucks. Did you contact them to ask what's up?

I'm going to try out my hardware this weekend (cables, accessories). I know the last time I bought a cheap keyboard (FAR from a B&M), not even half the keys worked. I'm playing Russian Roulette again and hoping second time's the charm on a cheap keyboard. : \

i ordered one of these kits earlier this month when there was 15 dollar shipping
i recieved everything that they said would be included
 
well, i called them and they didn't really give an answer. but did say that they'll ship a complete package out to me when they come back in stock.

that or they'll refund my card now and let me keep the package.

id just have them refund my car, but i want the 1000 ft damn it! :)

That's good that at least they're willing to do something about their messed up shipping.

Why exactly do you need a 1000ft for? Isn't 300ft enough?

And either way, looks like they will be sending you the 1000ft, letting you keep what you got ontop of what you ordered. You come out winning either way.

Oh, and if you do get a second complete kit, mind sending the crimper my way? I don't have one but could really use one. I'd pay the shipping :D
 
I tested my cheap $4 keyboard and all the keys work! :cool:

It also looks pretty decent - much better than my 7y/o Dell beige kb. :)
 
So far, the "cheap" accessories I bought from geeks.com seems to work as advertised. The mouse, keyboard, LED light, and round cables work fine. :)
