Gray Smudge Under Screen?

Hello! I appear to have some sort of gray smudge underneath the screen of my monitor. It shows up primarily on grays and blue colors, and skin colors as well, but is still visible when looking close on other colors. I'm not entirely sure what could be the cause, or if there's any possibility of fixing it myself. I've attached a picture of the smudge, it's at the near exact center of the gray box.

Any help that could be provided would be much appreciated!
