Graphics problems with new game

Just got Tropico 5 over steam and having this weird graphics problem:



Things I've tried:

- vsync on / off
- every resolution
- windowed mode
- install new nvidia drivers

This is on a Lenovo W510 with discrete graphics on Windows 8. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any suggestions? Thanks!
 
I'm assuming you have the Quadro FX880M in that laptop?

Quadros aren't really meant for gaming. Could just be an incompatibility with the game. I know the game has only been out for a few days, but search around to see if other Quadro users are having the same issue.

Also, you don't state if you've tried different graphics quality levels...
 
DX11 card required to launch the game (except some 10.1 ATI cards, apparently).

Stupid, unrealistic, technically insane, I know. But factual.
