i have a major problem with my gpu. this has happened 3 times already then it fixes it self after about a month. i can't wait another month i need to fix it now and i tried everything. i need to fix it to start recording videos again.

i would turn my computer off then in the morning i turn it on then the screen says no signal but then i plug in the built in gpu and look at the hardware and it says it doesn't exist. After about a month it would work again. The fans would spin the monitor works the cord to connect it would work.

people can't help without a detailed list of all hardware and software...make a detailed sig in your profile for best results, cause otherwise we have no idea where to start...best of luck:)

well, thats barely enough information, and lol gt210, but anyway, it sounds like your PCIe slot might be a dud. can you try another card in the slot?

why is everyone on these pc site idiots? ya hahah that's so funny because im young and don't have rich parents. i'm done with trying to get help. thanks

you sound like a douche. the guy was trying to help, and asked you simple questions so he could actually have an idea what was wrong and give you advice and you snapped at him. go get advice on another site. this one doesnt want you until you learn to get along with others.

@Cheatmongul: I think people want to help, but you have to work with us here. Like listing your full system specs (hardware, OS, etc.). Maybe some information like if you installed specific software or made any hardware changes right before the problem happened. Just saying you have a problem is not enough, and you should not insult people trying to help.

This is probably an intimidating place to ask about a basic system for a young guy (OP's words). I feel like an idiot around here regularly but it's good for building character. :D

Sounds like the card maybe might not be completely seated in the slot or something almost. Wild guess.

The worst thing about troubleshooting computers by yourself is that sometimes you need spare parts to get anywhere. You have to have another video card to see if it's the video card or not. Or another power supply. The best thing to do when you're completely stumped, you've taken the whole machine apart basically and put it back together and you don't have spare parts to use is to take it to a computer repair place so you don't end up buying the wrong components to swap out as a wild guess. Don't go to best buy, see if you can ask around/look around for someone reasonable or small-time.

try removing the card and cleaning the pins with alcohol and then putting it back into the system

sounds like pins dirty ( i know i had experience with that already)

When in doubt, pull out the card and blow on it, NES-style. Believe it or not it sometimes works.

Everyone who responded in this thread to help you probably has spare parts 10X times as powerful as your problem card (and they paid for it with there own hard earned money)....and would probably send it out free of charge for deserving people....with that attitude good luck getting any kind of help
