Im having an issue while playing games where theres some flicker on the screen.
The screen itself isn't flickering, it looks like something behind the game picture flicking in & does it in short periodic moments. I get it in every game I play to differing degrees.
This has lead to a frozen green screen in GRAW2 & dirt 2.

Both Dragon Age Origins & Mass Effect 2 do it but it's less intrusive but noticable. Haven't crashed yet though.

as far as I've noticed this problem is only when playing a game.

I'm currently running an old ver of Catalyst Control Center & old driver because it has the scaling options to fill out my entire screen.

The GPU is a XFX 5850.
Anything else I can try? Should I try reseating the the card on the Mobo?

have you tested it with any of the new drivers though and even without filling the screen does it present the same problem?

i have had many problems with the same card but seems to be getting better with every update of the catalyst control center and driver update.

I fired up Dirt 2 & didn't see any problems at all. I' test my other games but I'm thinking they will be ok as well.
Now, if I just knew how to make it fill my screen.

Too bad there's no overscan adjustment for this.
There's really no use to test the other games as I won't be using this ver because of the overscan problem.
I just downloaded CCC 9.9 & I'm gonna try it.

What type of display & res are you running that is having this problem? My setup has basically autodetected whatever monitor I've plugged into it without any problem.
 
I running a Panasonic Viera plasma @ 1920x1080.

Tried to install 9.9 but that aint happening on my system.

Installed & running 9.10 now...

I tried Dirt 2 & Mass Effect 2 & had no issues but I think 10.1 is a better driver. Things seem to flow smoother. Screen transitions (like when you start up win or shut down a game) has a wierd discoloring look with 9.10. At least it has the overscan.
I'll be testing it more tonight & tomorrow but what little I've played my original issue isn't present.

Is there a way to run a newer driver & an older CCC ver?
