i'm planning on putting new HTPC together, but i would also like to play some games time to time. so which video card should be best. i'm planning on using dual monitor one 27" with 2560x1440 and another 40" 1080p TV. 27" will majorly be used for web browsing and school stuff.

i also want to know if the TV can do 120hz, will video card be able to carry it through (using HDMI) while other monitor runs at 60hz. i'll be doing light photo shop as well. though noise level must be low while using it as HTPC. i do have extra 9600gt with passive cooling. but while playing some newer games they do lag. i usually play games at 1080p or lower.

i'm noob in overclocking, and little that i know (from reading here) i hardly use it.

I would recommend the AMD HD 7770. It's only about $125 and is a low power chip. It should be able to run games at a decent level. It packs the power of a 6850, but it's smaller, uses less power too which is ideal for HTPC.

If you want more gaming power, i'd recommend going with the HD 7850 but it's about $210 with some google hunting.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to run both at the same time at different refresh rates though
