Hey everyone I'm new here. Funny that I'm starting with a headphone question.

I'd like to buy a pair of Grado SR60's. Does anyone know where they might sell them in the Detroit area? I'd like to buy them in person since I'm going on a road trip this Sunday and want to take them with me.

I'm one of those people that when I make the decision to buy something I want to do it right away. ;)

Side note:
I also registered at the head-fi.com forum to ask this question but my account is taking forever to be approved for posting. So I'm already aware of that site.

BTW this is a pretty cool board. I've know about it for a about a year now but just never registered for some reason. But I've seen it listed in the vbulletin circles many times as I'm also a vbulletin license holder.

There is a place in Royal Oak where I got mine and where my brother got his HTS setup.
PM me if you are interested and I will look for the info for you.

Does the Guitar Center at 94 and Gratiot sell headphones? If not I could've sworn there was some home theater place in that general area.

Wow this post is 8 years old. Haven't been to this forum in a while. But yes I did find the Grado SR60's at a hifi shop on Woodward. Then about 4-5 years later I bought a second pair from the same place since my first pair went bad on me.

I've had that second pair for about 4 years now and they still work fine, but the build quality leaves a lot to be desired overall. They are starting to fall apart. However I've since moved on about a year ago to a pair of Sony 7506's that I love. I use them for audio work at my day job as well as at home for quality listening.

They sound better than the Grado's in my option. But they are also about $40 more expensive. I bought the Sony's at Guitar Center at Gratiot and 94.

if you like the sony 7506's sound sig, you'll probably be pleased to know that these:

sony mdr v6 are the exact same headphones (but have red accents instead of the light blue and doesn't have the "professional" moniker...)

they're also quite a bit cheaper, amazon usually lists them at $67 (it changes almost daily)
