Grade 5 Science Project

nice, nice, nice!

I'd spread the electrodes a bit more up top... with 12KV, you might be able to get a good 3-4" arc instead of the 1" you've got.

someone should experiment by inhaling helium and putting a lighted match close to there mouth. ouch

Helium is not combustible so I don't think there will be much ouch there. Hydrogen and oxygen, however, and you might want to look for a replacement face. Unless you can blow the flames out far enough away from your face. I still wouldn't recommend it, though. :)
