I installed and pasted the url. Now it is showing 2 instances running. Wonder if there is a way to get multiple cards to run etc. Anyone doing research on this atm. Tnx

I have 2 instances running along with my 2 cpu instances and my log file shows 2 GPU's recognized and both video cards are underload according to there individual tempatures over idle.

If you're running the BOINC client off of their site, it should automatically find all the cards and launch the appropriate number of units.

I can see off of the site that you have 4 units going. That can't be good for security.

Might have to pop in a new GPU in the work rig to try this out.

Is this a new biology-based DC project that runs on the PS3 and GPUs?

From the site:

It is a novel distributed supercomputing infrastructure made of many PlayStation3 and NVIDIA graphics cards joined together to deliver high-performance all-atom biomolecular simulations. This project gives a new powerful computational tool to scientists and you are an important part of it.

But much like F@H, most of the science related documentation on the site is way over my head. :D

I read a bit of the material on the site but I am wondering if this research is geared towards finding actual treatments to afflictions, or simply theoretical research for purely academic purposes.

I fold for a cure. Over the past 4 months I have watched as Stanford servers have done their thing. We have all watched the scrambling around to make excuses for various problems with wu's. I am not dissing or pointing fingers, honest. It just boils down to my confidence in the management of a great project and my feelings that I am stuck in the mud. Therefore, I am gonna jump ship and give Berkley a shot and test the water so to speak. If nothing else this will give me peace of mind, we shall see, that I dont have to babysit all the hardware. Each time I get out of bed in middle of night I normally have to bring up fahmon and see what needs fixed, lol. Regardless, I will sniff around to determine the (usefulness) of this project. In the meantime grats to whomever grabs my top 10 (ppd) spot, snicker.

You will probably sleep well, and have less to do when you wake up, with BOINC. Sometimes boring is good.

Well, hello to jim03 coming on-board with a bunch 'o points. :D

after im done helping out Agrfan ill be moving my 8800GT to gpugrid.. has anyone tested the client yet by playing a game to see if it drops the priority on the gpu so the game can take full advantage of the gpu?

Hmm interesting. I might have to look into this as I have an Idle 8800GS. For those of you that have installed it - Could you report back stability, as well as CPU usage and GPU heat/load. If its fairly stable I will probably install this yet this week.

As always - Thanks guys! :)

I have seen a little more cpu usage compared to FAH from it but doesn't seem to interfere much with WCG (forum says there working on that), heat issues are way less, anywhere from 4C-8C drop in GPU temps. I am runnig it on a very wide range of Nvidia products. Very stable so far, have not had any problems at all just like the WCG. Easy peesy japanesee.

 Good to hear. I added a link to your post above with all the setup info and files to the WCG Software thread. This way it will be easy to find later.

Are you running your GPUs overclocked or stock. (yeah I know, dumb question but had to ask..)

You're on 32 or 64 bit Windows? Curious as to how it'll affect CPU times.

I'm running at the overclock speeds I ran for FAH (listed in my signature).
I have clients running in Vista 64 and Vista 32. Things seem to be very stable.
No more 2:00 am wake-ups thinking ok now whats not working right.
Maybe I can get some sleep for a change.

No challenge in this project. We jumped up to #58 overnight out of 144 teams with points. :D

That's a nice RAC! (somebody had to say it.. :D)

The Horde is 108 in total credit, 58 in RAC

True, but their default view is sorted by RAC, so that must be the most important number, right? :D

Besides, its a relatively new project with low participation at this point. Team MacNN is #17 in total points with one active user. And we're 58/108 after a few of hours of participation.
