I have an 880GTS (eVGA if it matters) running under Win7 64. It pretty much does nothing but fold. The problem happens when it gets a 1888 point unit. It completes the unit in a reasonable amount of time, sends back the results, then starts a string of EUEs until it hits the max EUEs per day. When I stop and restart the client, it gives me a message that the card is not supported or the drivers are out of date. Restarting the computer fixes the problem until it gets another 1888 pointer. I have tried the 195.62, 190.38, and 185.85 drivers, with no change in the behavior. Any thoughts on what is going on? The card is running stock speed with temps in the 70's - low 80's according to RivaTuner. Even after it crashes with FAH, nothing else seems to be affected. Thanks.

try turning the fan up to 50% if you can.. should drop the temps and probably stop the EUE's..

I get EUE's every day on my 8800GT. Stock speed, badass cooler (HR-03 GT) so it's not a temp issue.
I've given up on effectively Folding on that card....such a shame. I restart the damn client at least 2x a day.
I'm hoping a clean install of Windows on that machine fixes whatever the issue is, but I doubt it. I've uninstalled drivers and run Driver Sweeper and CCleaner several times now and I still get EUE's. (195.62) I've had other people here on the DC forums tell me to use older drivers, I've just never gotten around to it.
Seems like it's always 57xx WU's...everything else, the card does fine on. Games or normal use, the card is fine.

Did you ever try just under clocking the memory? I have a single slot 8800GT that used to EUE like a SOB with every single WU. It was so bad, I threw it in the closet and forgot about it. However one day, I was really desperate for some moar PpD so I dug it out and decided to try under clocking the memory but leaving everything else stock. Voila, she could now fold. Feeling brave, I then decided to overclock the core and shaders, leaving the memory under clocked.. again,she handled this like a pro. She is now overclocked to 1896 shaders and one of my most reliable cards on the farm. Never another EUE seen and I've run 200+ WUs through her.
Well, so far so good. I bumped the fan up about 30% and backed the memory clok down about 5%. Temps are running high 60's. It finished a 1888 pointer and a few smaller ones today and is still running strong. Thanks for the advice. I never would have guessed this was hardware-related...

on the 8 series cards stick with the 186.16 drivers.. ive had nothing but trouble with any drivers newer then those on my 8800GT.. theres no reason to go with anything newer because nvidia quit improving the drivers for old 8/9 series cards after 186.xx drivers..
i think the temp going down is what made the biggest difference.. never had a problem with my 8800GT at 736/1836/1015 and thats with one of the VRM heatsinks missing which i didnt know had fallen off.. which now explains why it kept crashing when i tried putting the shader clock back to 1890..
but if it was the vram being down clocked that made the difference.. then id say its time for an RMA..

You know what I love about computers, nothing is the same from one person to another.
My favorite driver for my 8800GT's and 9600GSO's is the 191.07. I don't know why, but no other drivers have given me the performance on XP64 and folding that these have.
