GPU Water block problem

So I've just installed the XSPC Rasa Universal GPU Water Block to my HD7970, and on top of the video ram I put these heatsinks http://www.aquatuning.de/product_info.php/info/p733_Zalman-Heatsinks-ZM-RHS1-RAM-Cooler.html

Everything is fine in 2D, but when I start a 3D game it freezes after less than a minute. :(
I've used GPU-Z to check the temps, and at idle I got 36-38 ºC, but when I start a 3D game, it quickly rises to more than 80ºC and then it hangs up. I've put a couple of fans to cool the video ram. Finally I've also installed some heatsinks on top of the other electronics that the stock heatsink fan cools.

I'm not very familiar with the normal temps, but 80ºC seems pretty hot to me. Btw this is the first time i've installed a GPU water block. Any ideas?

You need a copper shim to make that type of block work with a 7970.

yep, i'm gonna buy one of those!!
thank you all :)

the video RAM has only passive cooling, with these heatsinks on
