is it only me or is GPU crunching become irrelevant for med/bio in boinc ? GPUgrid run dry and only have CPU work (they can rename to CPUgrid).
Left „only“ FAH for GPU.

CPU in the other side has WCG, Rosetta and DENIS (and of course FAH, too)

And no, I still don’t want to chase primes or render movies.
Bench the GPUs and turn the power plug to more CPU?

GPU cannot crunch everything. They also had lost a few critical members a year or two back, so their expertise on BOINC became really limited. They dabbled with CPU work back around 2014 and I don't recall whom I chatted with but did suggest the name change like they did when they moved from PSGrid to GPUGrid. "They" told me a name change would not occur. They are experimenting with a new feature of Windows 10 that other projects have not done yet that allows a quasi Linux to run on top of Windows. I personally would prefer they just make a Linux application and tell people to use a VM if they didn't want to run it as the core OS. I think we will see a continued trend of scientists to move away from hosting their own projects and just running them under someone else's platform. It takes too much of their time to learn how to set up, configure, and maintain the servers. Then trying to appease the donors with small trinkets and instant feedback. Most teams don't have that kind of time in their day.
