Hello all,

What's an acceptable GPU temperature? I'm using ATI tool on my X800pro and it's around ~44C... is that too high? when does it become an unacceptable environment for the graphics card?
 
Thats about right assuming your using the stock heatsink. Under load the card will get up in the mid 70s. I put a zalman on mine and I get 36 idle, and about 57 under load.

Too high? I don't think so... I have a 6800 GT Nvidia, and it idles at around normal room temp. (~70 F) from 58-61 C. Under gaming conditions, that temp rises to 70-76 C. However, it seems normal because it always runs at those temps with the stock hardware. If the card ran into thermal issues at that temp (60-76C) you would think the company would do something about it. However, since the same design cards are made all the time, I guess its normal. PLUS, it says core thermal slowdown at 120 C by default.

I would assume that ATIs in that sense are not too different from Nvidias. So I would think that 40-44 C is a normal temperature for a x800 Pro. However, I could be wrong.
