Which GPU ??

I have several Questions in mind

1.What should i buy right now
NViDIA 670 or AMD 7970/7950 (As Price of 7970 = 670 in my country)

2.When i Search "best single monitor gpu" in google ......... most of them suggests 670........ Although i see 7950 as a more 'bang for the money' option

3.If i dont get NVIDIA the i dont get to enjoy PhysX ................. What are the alternatives ? ............ Any Software Alternatives

4.I did some price check based on our Currency

5.if i am to get the AMD ones ................. Should i take the 7970 or 7950

{The Asus DC2T version , Sapphire Flex Edition , Sapphire VaporX , Gigabyte Windforce caught my eye .}

10.What is Locked and Unlocked in a GPU ?............................ Which Brands Sell Unlocked Gpu's?
(I have no idea of Unlocked and Locked ......... But as i read Unlocked helps you to Overclock more)

### my uses in my other thread ............................................... so 2 or 3 fps difference wont matter to me ......... but more than that .................. depends on price ...................... 1. The 7970 is the current "fastest" single screen single GPU card on the market. Game play performance is comparable to a 680 (i.e. both will use the same settings, the 7970 will be slightly faster frame rate but not to the point you can increase settings).

2. Google is mistaken.

3. You can still play PhysX games without it. There was maybe 1 released last year? Borderlands 2. One the year before that, Batman: Arkham City. I haven't played borderlands 2, but I can say that I see NO difference with or without PhysX in Batman. Not a selling point in my mind.

5. Depends on your budget. the 7970 is faster than the 7950.

6. Factory overclock guarantees that overclock. There's no guarantee in overclocking it yourself.

7. GPU core used then GPU clock then memory clock.

9. Check to see if we've reviewed them (we have most of them).

10. Not sure where you're coming from on this one.

11. The linked article is trying to make hay about the differences using extreme frame rates that you are unlikely to use. If you were getting 100+ FPS, you'd likely want to turn up more image quality settings. When you go with best playable settings, for single screen gaming, 2gb vs 3gb and amount of memory bandwidth does not make a material difference in the current generation games.

At 1080p any of the cards you are looking at will perform well. I went with the gtx 680 bc it was the best single gpu at the time before I decided to go 2K and SLI. Have you made a decision on which gpu to purchase?
