GPU Pop'ing EUE's on restart?

Hey guys.
I've got a Sapphire X1950Pro that I'm running the GPU client on. I have no problems with it (love the 330 ppu, and can sometimes pop out 2 units a day...heh). However, if I quit out of the folding console, and then open it again (say, I restart the computer, or close it out to play a game), no matter where it is in the unit it's working on, it will puke, and force the unit to end early. Needless to say this is VERY annoying, especially if I'm at, oh, 90% done when I close out of the client...ARG!

Is this normal, or is my configuration borked somehow?

Are you running at stock 2D speeds & voltages ?

I've found on my X1950XT-X that if the GPU voltage is a fraction low then it runs ok but does this early end on any restart.
So you may need to up the GPU core voltage to ~1.2v.

But then I'm running mine at 3D speeds which gives me close to 800 PpD.

The volts are suppose to be at 1.4 stock I reckon.
 
As Ghent915 can sometimes pop out 2 units a day I'm asueming he's running at stock 2D speeds & volts.
If I remember right its around 500/600 mhz for gpu/memory & 1.125 volts for the GPU core.
Work units take just over 13 hours to crunch.

With the ATITool I've clock my X1950XTX upto 3D speeds.
From 500 to 648 mhz GPU clock & from 600 to 999 mhz memory clock.
GPU volts are at 1.3v & the cooling fan runs at 38% or 54%, step-up fan speed at 75C.
If I drop the voltage any then it gives me early ends.
If I clock it any higher then I need to up the voltage which makes the fan to loud trying to keep it under 75C.
At this speed I'm doing a work unit in just over 10 hours.

I'm not having a problem with EUE's just at random (thankfully!). My big issue is that when I close out the GPU Client (console version), and then re-open it, for whatever reason, it will not resume on the unit it was working on. It will always just drop it as an early unit end, and then start on a new unit.

The card is at stock speeds (2d, the fan gets a mite loud @ 3d clocks, and I do sleep with this in my room).

Any ideas?

Need to wait > 10 minutes or so before starting client back up. Some weird stuff going on, clients does not fully "thread down" or something. The client is not fully closing, even after task manager reports it's all done.

Close it, give is a while before starting back up.

I don't run the GPU client, but I just wanted to make sure you know that the old version of the beta GPU client expires today, and that you need to go to the F@H site and download the new version that was just released. Happy folding.

 
I discovered a little issue with the GPU console version last night. After a bit of gaming action i resumed the gpu client and one cpu client the cpu client started fine the gpu client just flashed the black window and closed, i cant read what it said becouse it closes so fast

i was running the beta client, could the closing of the beta be the couse of this?

 
Mine says it's working on a lambda right now. Does anyone know if I use ATI Tool to force 3d, is it going to effect the X600 I have in this system too? It looks like I can pick the device ID, I assume R580 is my x1950xtx and RV370 is my X600. What are the default 3d volts and clocks for the 1950 again?
