GPU OC Question

I've got my 9800gx2 up and folding, but I've got a question about getting the shaders pushed on this Dual GPU card...

I'm using the EVGA Precision tool (Rivatuner requires driver signing disabled...) and I can OC one of the GPU's just fine, but I don't see any way to OC the second GPU. GPU-Z is reporting the second GPU at stock, so it's not like it is just picking up the settings... or is it?

Totally clueless on this part, so any help would be great.
Current PPD is now 17320, hopefully I can push it a little more :)

I use riva tuner for that, just make sure both are plugged into monitors and Riva Tuner plays nice with both gpus.

How does disabling the driver signing work in vista? Will that mean hitting F8 when booting, or some such as that?

Yes, hit F8 during boot and you will see a menu. Pick the option to disable driver signing (it's the 9th option).

I get the feeling that this is gonna be a very annoying thing...
The evga precision tool doesn't require driver signing to be disabled, but it only OC's both gpu's if you are in SLI mode...

The RivaTuner tool not only requires that driver signing be disabled, but it is one of the most horrible programs I have ever seen. Oh, and it appears that RivaTuner does not let you unlink the core and shader while OC'ing.

Any (good) how-to's on RivaTuner? I've found several not-so-good ones...

Hmm...I'm running RivaTuner 2.09 and there is a check box to allow unlinking of the core/shader clocks.

Driver settings/customize/system settings/overclocking. This is on 2 x 280gtx. Might be different with the GX2...

I'll double check that... As I mentioned, the interface in this app is pretty bad so I could have easily missed this.

Can you turn on SLI - Configure the OC's on the cards - Turn off SLI? Will the OC's be retained? There must be an easier way to configure GX2's. This would be even more of a concern if you were trying to configure 2 x GX2 as now you're screwing around with 4.

From what I read on the evga forums the settings would not be retained. I'm not even sure how people are using it to mess with 2x8800gt. But, I did get RivaTuner working. I've got the core and memory underclocked (not much, it seems to affect PPD if you bottom these settings out) and the shaders with a mild overclock.

Hopefully in a future release of the eVGA Precision Tool, they'll come up with a solution. nVidia is pushing the GPU2 client (actually saw quite a bit more propoganda at ROGCon this weekend) and a simple and effective way to configure the GPU's would go a long way in that regard.
