i've got my gaming system, see sig, going and i cant seem to get GPU Folding to work, been ages since i did GPU folding

anyhow, i am continuously getting "Unstable_Machine" errors on the GTX260, when at stock, overclocked, and as low as precision will let me put the card

My HD6870 is in PCIe slot 1, -gpu 0 , and is the primary card. It was installed first with the ATI drivers

GTX 260 is in PCIe slot 3, -gpu 2, and is 2ndary used to only run a 19" 1440x900 monitor, on the 258.96 drivers, 64bit

Anyone have any ideas?

you should probably be using "-gpu 1" flag to get FAH to run on that GTX260

nope, i've tricked flags for -gpu 0/1/2/3 , and only 2 works (since its the 3rd slot)

-gpu 1 comes up as a ATI 6800 is not supported

Just for giggles, have you tried running with just the nVidia card installed? I recently dropped a 460GTX into my HTPC that had a Radeon 5450 doing screen duties and I couldn't get F@H to run at all (though I was getting a different error). I basically couldn't get the box to fold with an ATi and nVidia card installed at the same time (though, I didn't spend much time trying). If you get the errors when its the only card in the box, you might have a hardware issue rather than a configuration issue.

In other news, I'll be mowing you in the next day or so... :D:D

um, slots have nothing to do with it AFAIK. It's all about what Windows sees for your GPUs.

no i havent, and that is not an option. the 6870 is the primary for a reason. If i cannot get it to work as a 2ndary, it will stay being used to just display a monitor.

and meh everyone gets mowed ;)

edit: @jebo, ya i realize that, but its also how it turned out, that only -gpu 2 flag is recognized as a nvidia card, 0/1/3 are all recognized as 6800

I understand that you ultimately want both cards in there, but what I'm suggesting is to TEST the 260 alone to confirm that the source of your EUEs isn't due to a hardware issue with the 260.

i can give that a go later this week, however this card has folded for days on end w/o issue at much higher clocks than the low limits of what EVGA precision can set it to, leading me to beleive it is not a card issue, but software at some level

Yeah it sounds Like the AMD NVIDIA combo is screwing your drivers up somehow.

Jebo has a point as we all know what a pain it is if you want to add a NVGPU to a Radeon as a PhysX card - driver hack mania. If it's only to be used for folding and 2nd duty on a lower res monitor have you tried moving it to the 4th PCI-E slot? The slot is only 4X but should be good enuff for folding and light duty chores. That is if your case will allow you to place a dual slot card down that low. I assume you have the extra power for PCI-E plugged into the mobo? Maybe try some different driver combos - I've found the 260.99 is OK for my GTX260 but anything later hoses folding performance on it BUT I haven't tried the new 275.33's yet. Some are reporting fan speed issues with the 275.xx's so it might ratchet up the sound profile. Keep us posted as I'm sure there's lots of other folks with potential mixed GPU combos and we might end up with something to be posted in a 'sticky' .

That's what kills me... i had it working before but now I can't get it to work.....and yes, power is not my issue, the client/driver is
