GPU Folding with the Browser

I was just thinking about how browsers are starting to support GPGPU, would it be possible to make an addon that would do folding?

What if a forum could force it to happen so everyone that visited say [H]ardforum started to fold with their GPU?

no. completely bad idea in every way. bad enough that IE9 is 100% gpu accelerated even looking at a blank page. it would be hell for those people trying to watch a hulu video or youtube video on another tab. it just wont work. then on top of that think of those people that run overclocked cards. "lets go to [H] oh shit nvidia drivers crash fuck i have to restart". oh yeah great way to kill off your fan base.

also there is the other problem that if your like me and you have 10 tabs open on various sections of [H] thats now 10 gpu clients your running.

+1 on the concept.. would be interesting but i refuse to ever use IE so it really wouldnt benefit me in any way.
-10 on it actually working in the real world.

thats kinda how google got soo many points. installed folding with there tool bar. people didnt even know they where folding.

And why it's eventually outlawed since not everyone was aware. It was a legal mess to deal with uninformed consentment and understanding the consequences.

That's why this idea would never ever happen.

Aside from the fact that your idea would not work due to technical reasons, it is strictly forbidden by the F@H EULA to force someone to fold.
