That,"I've waited my whole life for this." moment when your UPS tracking status shows 'Out for delivery." I refuse to take a shit until he gets here.

What a better way to spend my Monday off...running my 7950 through the ringer!!! I also got a Planetside 2 beta invite so that should be some fun too. Come on brown!!!
 
I feel that way when I have any box coming. So warm and fuzzy, until you get ready to turn the computer on... then I'm scared shitless. So many disappointments xD
 
Lol! I always have problems myself with waiting, impatiently hammering those package tracing apps. A parcel cannot come fast enough! You have my sympathy:D
 
My 7950 with the 2500K runs PS2 all high without any issues. Try editing the .ini file to get ultra settings, that maybe another story. Last time I tried it was really awful performance. Be sure to find a group to play with in the game. It sucks otherwise IMO.
 
The UPS guy already came, Hid the package behind some bushes. I swears it. Time to go bush diving!

I am waiting for my new case, and water cooling parts. Its set to deliver today. Well actually It was in my local area on Friday morning, and those bastards decided to wait til today to deliver.

I feel your pain. I think the fedex guy might just have to encounter my 25 lb dog of terror for vengeance. Of course after he drops the package off ;-) then again my dog is only 25lbs and not to terrorizing.

This is why I try and find stuff locally first. If the price is close to what I'd pay with shipping and tax I'll usually grab it locally.

that's funny cause I swear sometimes they must monitor my movements and the moment I am out of sight, they drop the package off and dissapear.
 
HAHA...Well, 3 hours, one healthy shit, one dull ginsu knife, two pots of coffee, twice torn apart 7950, and twice trimmed gawdy fan shroud later...I'm in!!! Bout to start running benchmarks/install Trixx/OC etc. Yay!
 
This is why I have all my packages delivered to work. They generally show up at 10am on the dot. If it's important enough, I'll take a half day after it arrives, and head on home. It's a win win... not having to take a day off, knowing someone will sign for my package, and not worrying about when it shows up.

I'm trying to decide if I want to waste time with Trixx or not...I've always just limited my overclocks to what CCC allows. This is the card that I got:

It IS factory OC'd by 50mhz but it isn't considered an actual "OC" model. I just ran 3dMark11 and it topped out at 63C @ stock clocks so I might be safe using Trixx and pushing it a bit due to the snazzy cooling solution on this thing. Hmm...

I prefer afterburner myself.

Do yourself a favor Go download ASUS GPU Tweak. Install it, Go to tune, then extend overclocking limits. Reboot.

Now your limits in CCC and Afterburner will be increased. Happy overclocking.

I got my package today to. Finally got everything installed in the new case. Watercooling stuff will stay in the box for now.

I'm noticing something now that I'm looking closer. No matter where I set my voltage in Afterburner, the max voltage showing in the graph after I run 3dmark is always 1.168. I remember reading something about there being 2 bios to choose from in some setting that played a role in being able to unlock actual voltage control. I just ran 3dmark11 @ 1161/1500 at what I'm thinking are still stock voltages and was able to score P9916, so if I can gain control of the core voltage I think I can hit 10k...I guess I'll try the ASUS GPU tweak utility.

Installing ASUS GPU Tweak didn't allow me to extend the clocks or voltages any more than were possible with Afterburner.
 
Create a MSI Afterburner shortcut with /xcl in the command line. Run it and overclocking limits are extended.

edit: I got it figured out...I had to set the voltage to constant in Afterburner. I was finally able to make a 3dMark11 pass at 1200...albeit with 1.268 on the core voltage. I kind of just picked a high number because I was tired of watching 3dmark11 crash. That was the first voltage I tried after setting it to constant. I'll try some more tweaking tomorrow. Surprisingly the max temp was 68C.

there is an option under the tuning tab to increase limits.

Or you can use /XCL in afterburner target shortcut.

if your over 9000P score in 3dmark 11 then your overclock is working.
 
Hah, then you get that update that shows that your package is delayed or estimated arrival time is now tomorrow. LOL, that really F'ing sucks!
 
The worst is "package delivered" and yet nothing arrived ...
