Hey I've got a quick question for you guys. I'm stuck between the MAZE4 and the MCW55. Which one should I get. I've got an Apex kit on its way so any suggestions would be great.
 
The MCW55 is a newer block, I don't think many reviews are out on it (and GPU waterblock reviews are few and far between anyway). I can't imagine it performing poorly. Probably on par or better then the Maze 4. Swiftech has been top of its stuff recently (even if you don't include the storm)
 
Pick whichever one you can get cheaper/you think looks better. The Maze4 gpu and MCW-50 (previous gpu block, only major difference between it and 55 is that the 50 had an aluminum top) performed about the same, and it doesn't seem like the MCW-55 has any major new improvements to its design that would noticeably affect performance. You can find used Maze4 gpus for around $30-$35 shipped if you want to save a couple bucks and ok with used components.
 
Eh thats okay, I prefer new parts. I went ahead and ordered the MCW from jab-tech....and have officially drained my bank account :( oh well. Theres always the week after next...but thats going to go to my savings. Heh. Thanks for your opinions guys...much obliged.

The MCW55 actually performs about 2C better than the MCW50 on average according to BillA (I think...its late and I may be mistaken about where the 2C figure came from). Now that is from a first party source, but BillA is a very upstanding and respectable person.

Totally unknown as there have never been any direct tests. Besides, they are two totally different animals. One is a GPU only cooler and the other is a combined GPU/RAM cooler.
 
ok, ill rephrase. Would it be more effective to get OCZ copper ramsinks and the MCW55?
 
If it were me, I'd go with the MCW55 and ramsinks................. :D On the newer cards, GDR3 doesn't really get all thet hot IMHO, and the all in one coolers are flow killers. You'll get max performance out of the Swifty vers the All In Why would you want to kill your flow coolers.
 
not to the mention that the storm + MCW55 will look proper nice together.
